In healthy ecosystems, mushrooms conduct the flow of nutrients within plant communities. We believe that humans and mushroom species have adapted to one another over the millienia and by planting trees and gardens with carefully selected mushroom species, higher yields, reduced erosion, higher water retention, lower fire danger, and faster ecological repair of damaged ecosystems is possible.
We have experience with the 'Hugelkultur' technique of planting 'mushroom swales' which retain and direct surface water flows, grow edible mushrooms, and nurture perennial plantings of medicinal herbs, native plants and food crops.
